It's time to discover The Healing Path

The key to better health could be right under your feet!

Your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body. Like the foundation of a house, your feet support the weight of everything above them. When a small problem develops in your feet, (like a crack in the foundation of a house), the subtle change in the way you walk and compensate for it will cause a chain reaction in your posture and your overall walking mechanics; (like the shifting and settling of a house). These changes can put stress on joints, leading to more serious problems down the road.

What are prescription orthotics?
Prescription orthotics look like insoles, but are actually biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made from your specific measurements using a specific scanning device, called a Gait Scan. The sole purpose (no pun intended) of orthotics, are to correct your foot imbalances. Orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes- they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment. Each individual person has their own specific needs and (much like snowflakes), no two people’s orthotics are the same.

How do they help?
Properly made orthotics are custom molded to the support requirements of your feet. They help restore the normal balance of your body by gently correcting foot abnormalities. custom made orthotics are a pleasure to wear- as they gently reduce problems associated with pressure points, muscle strain and abnormal forces on the ankles, knees, hips and spine. Over time, these prescribed orthotics will help correct and provide relief from fatigue and pain, allowing you to enjoy daily activities comfortably.

How do you know if you need orthotics?
Next time you get out of the shower, step onto a dry towel; (use a colour that changes when it’s wet- a blue one works well). Have a look at your wet foot prints. If they have a gentle curve from the ball to the heel, that’s good. But if the curve is shallow or non-existent, then you have low or flat arches. If the curve is deep or the ball doesn’t join up to the heel, then you have high arches. Now look at your feet and ankles in the mirror. Do your ankles roll inward? Do your knees cave in? Do you develop calluses easily? Perhaps you have arch or heel pain, bunions, sore ankles, shins or knees? These are all telltale signs that show the need for custom orthotics.

How long do orthotics last?
Many factors such as body type, physical activity level, and type of physical activity will influence the life of your orthotics. Generally 1-2 years is the normal life span of an orthotic that’s being worn every day. You should have your orthotics checked every year to ensure your orthotics have not lost their rigidity or your prescription has not changed.

Is Spinal Decompression Right For You?

The Healing Path Chiropractic & Wellness Centre is a facility designed specifically for spinal care and rehabilitation. Is your pain limiting your quality of life? Does your condition interfere with your hobbies, work or sleep? Have you tried medications, injections, chiropractic, physiotherapy or even surgery with limited success? If you answered yes to any of these questions, there is hope with The Healing Path.

We’ll provide you with a highly successful option for treatment of chronic back and neck pain. Pain that is originating from damaged spinal discs responds quickly and effectively when pressure is removed from that disc space. This process is achieved at The Healing Path by the SpineMed® Decompression System.

The highly advance SpineMed® system is a Health Canada licensed medical device that is non-surgical and drug-free. It is a safe, pain-free and offers hope where other decompression systems fail. The SpineMed® Decompression System achieves disc healing by creating negative intradiscal pressure during decompression. This negative pressure allows the body to heal the disc space by directing hydration and nutrition to the injured disc space. The repetition of this process leads the rejuvenation of the spinal disc.

The Healing Path’s spinal decompression program is tailored specifically to each candidate. We utilize a variety of adjunct therapies to work alongside the Health Canada licensed SpineMed® table in order to ensure each candidate receives maximum recovery from their ailment.

Please call 905-333-9900 to schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Maher Obeid. He will discuss your candidacy for spinal decompression therapy and ultimately help you relieve your pain. nike air max thea damen nike air max thea damen
