What Is a Naturopathic Doctor?

As primary care physicians, they are similar to your family doctor or GP, differing only in the tools used to address your concerns. As such, they can benefit everyone by diagnosing and treating any health condition, with an emphasis on disease prevention, and optimizing wellness.

We integrate standard medical diagnostics with a wide range of natural therapies to help support the body’s own ability to heal. Treating the cause of the problem is important. You’re more than your symptoms; we treat the whole person. We believe in working with your medical doctor, and the rest of your healthcare team, to provide the best care possible.

What Tools Do Our Doctors Use?

Naturopathic medicine relies on the following principles:

  • The body has an innate healing nature
  • Doctor as teacher
  • Identify and treat the cause
  • Treat the whole person
  • Prevention

Our care is tailored to the unique needs of our patients, and we use a number of different techniques to align with these principles, including nutrition and lifestyle counselling, acupuncture, cupping, and Traditional Chinese medicine, nutraceutical support, herbal medicine, counselling and mental health support, vitamin B12 injections, functional lab testing. We may recommend certain pharmaceutical therapies.
